Our Story

Where we came from

We get asked all the time why we named our company R1 Appraisals. It has a double meaning. Meaning #1, We (Nick and Carl, co-owners of R1 Appraisals) are very proud of our ancestry. We found out after we first started working together that our 2nd great grandfathers were best friends. Carl's grandpa Wright was one of Carl's heroes. He was a banker by day and a cattle rancher by night. The brand to identify his livestock was R1 (as pictured to the left). Meaning #2, R1 is a zoning classification representing residential one acre. Being residential appraisers, we thought the double meaning fit.
